Dieting Tips: Small changes can make a big difference!

  • Drink 1 percent or skim milk rather than whole milk or 2%.
  • Bake, poach, or broil meats, fish, and poultry.
  • In recipes that call for flour, use at least half whole-wheat flour.

  • Eat light snacks in between meals to avoid overeating.

  • Reduce your intake of caffeine. Caffeine raises insulin levels in the body, which slows down your ability to burn fat.
  • Raise your fiber intake. Fiber fills you up faster and helps you digest your food better.
  • Exercise just before dinner or early afternoon. Studies have shown that you burn more stored fat while exercising on an empty stomach.
  • DO NOT SKIP MEALS! Skipping meals slows down the metabolism and increases your chances of overeating the next meal.
