Are low carbohydrate weight loss diets like the Atkins weight loss diet safe?
No. There has been a lot of controversy regarding this issue. Medical research has shown however, that totally cutting out carbohydrates from a weight loss diet or minimizing levels below the suggested daily amount can cause more harm than good.

Most of the weight loss is water weight and lean muscle mass. Your body cannot process the excess amount of protein. As a result, your kidneys must work harder to flush out the excess toxins caused by the over consumption of proteins. These weight loss diets also consist of foods high in fat, which will raise your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and increase your chances of developing heart disease or cancer.

How effective is weight loss dieting?
It depends on the weight loss diet you follow. Cutting down the amount of food you eat is unhealthy and does not work as well as changing or altering the types of food you eat. When you reduce your calorie intake, your body automatically slows down the natural fat burning process to maintain fat levels.
